JOAN URE SONGS

The photograph of Joan Ure below is taken from the book Five Short Plays
On the back cover are the following comments from Christopher Small who selected the plays for
publication

'When Joan Ure died in 1978, at the height of her powers, the loss to Scottish writing, was immeasuarable. The loss in this case was especially poignant, since she was just beginning to receive some of the recognition long overdue to her talents.
The five plays here are no more than a sample but they represent her brilliant individuality, her theatrical skill and imagination, and the themes that recur throughout'

The song I CANNOT SEND YOU ANY FLOWERS plays once in the background
It is one of five songs by Joan Ure which are being prepared for an EP

The only recordings of the songs at present are  basic accoustic versions recorded onto cassette and DAT tape.

The other songs are:
NOTHING TO SING ABOUT
WEAVE ME OH WEAVE ME
I'M MAKING ALL MY LOVE SONGS and
EVERY TIME NOW THAT I SEE YOUR FACE
